This Privacy Policy describes how YouChess ("we", "us") handles your information when you use the YouChess mobile app.

Information we collect

• Anonymous account. When you first open YouChess we create an anonymous account with a random identifier. You can optionally link it to your Apple or Google account later; if you do, we receive the identifier (and, if you choose to share it, the email address) provided by that service.
• Gameplay data. Your games (moves, results, ratings, analysis summaries) are stored on your device and synced to our servers so your history and rating follow you across devices.
• Purchase data. If you buy the Remove Ads upgrade, we receive and store the store receipt needed to validate and restore your purchase. We never see your payment details — those are handled by Apple or Google.
• Device and usage data. Basic technical events (e.g. app version, error reports, feature usage) used to keep the app working well.

Advertising

YouChess is free and supported by ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process data as described in Google's partner policy, including device identifiers, to show and measure ads. Where required (e.g. in the EEA/UK), we ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown, and on iOS we honor your App Tracking Transparency choice. You can remove all ads permanently with a one-time purchase.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not collect your real name, contacts, photos or location.
• We do not show ads during games.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained while your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated server data at any time — see Delete Account. Purchase claim records required for fraud prevention may be retained after account deletion, as permitted by law.

Children

YouChess is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR in the EU, CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your data. Contact us and we will honor applicable requests.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
